The Founder

- The founder of this organization is Pujya Sri Sri Ravishankarji.
- Sri Sri is an enlightened master and a leader in human development.
- Was born in 1956 in an eminent family in Southern India.
- At the tender age of 4 he could recite the entire Bhagwat Gita and was found rapt in meditation for 4 hours.
- At the age of 8 he started to study the Vedic Literature and at 17, he completed his education in Ancient and Modern Science under the close guidance of enlightened Vedic Masters.
- In 1982, he founded "The Art Of Living International" and brought thousands of all over the world, a deeper understanding of their own being and an inner transformation.
- In 1984, after a period of silence and deep meditation, the Sudershan Kriya breathing technique spontaneously came to his awareness, which has transformed the life of millions.
- In 1986, amongst the several honors and laurels, he was conferred with the title of Yogashiromani(literally jewel in the crown of Yoga) by the President of India.
- In 1992 Sri Sri launched the prison course to address the need of Individuals & professional affected by the Criminal Justice System.
- On October 22nd 1995, hr addressed the Heads of Nations and Spiritual Luminaries at the United Nations during the Golden Jubilee Anniversary at New York.
- In 1996, Sri Sri has been cited as one of the three wise men of the century in a Swedish documentary. In the same year, he chaired the International Conference of Religions at Kyoto, Japan too.
- He is the founder of International Association Of Human Values,Switzerland and many other service organizations around the world.
- He is a laughter,humility & service personified. He is equally at ease with Children,cooking in the kitchen or giving an eloquent speech in the UN.
- In August 2000, he addressed venerable gathering from 75 different faiths at the Millennium Worlds Peace Summit in United Nations General. Assembly Hall at New York. This was one at the most inspiring gatherings ever held in United Nations.
